It is just like the one I used while in Italy, makes a great cappuccino and is easy to use and clean up. I love this cappuccino and latte set.
The instruction in the box was very clear. Only time will tell when I have to replace the o-ring. With all the usage, it's showing no sign of wear. If I fill the water to the fill-line, and put the espresso maker on the stove then turn on the element (electric), it takes exactly 5 minutes on my stove to make the espresso. The non-stick lining in the frother is a great feature, making it very easy to clean.If you are making a latte, you probably want to heat up the milk on the stove first, wait a couple of minutes, than put the espresso maker on. I added water to the bottom portion, scooped in the espresso, screw on the top and place on the stove.
But this is one well-made set of espresso/latte maker. I was visiting someone with a similar espresso maker, and was so impressed with the espresso that came out of it that I came running home to research for one to buy. Based on the comments here on Amazon.com, I ordered this cappuccino and latte set. They all work well, but obviously the higher fat content ones tend to froth thicker.
I have used skim milk, 1% milk, soy milk, and almond milk to make my lattes. The machine is very easy to rinse out.The frother is equally useful. With this set, I am having my morning coffee at home that costs very little to make. Highly recommended.
We even take it camping and use it on the butane stove. I bought some good quality organic espresso beans for this, and the result. Since buying this set 2 months ago, I've used it at least once a day, but often twice a day. Prior to this, I have never used a stove-top espresso maker before.
The milk takes a little longer to heat up than the coffee.I was spending over $40 a week at Sbux prior to this. The coffee is so good, and it's so easy to make. It was pretty simple. Heavenly.
It says after heating the milk, you're suppose to put the lid on and shake it. Since Illy coffee is so expensive, I found Lavazza crema e gusto for a much better price on Amazon and it's yummy.
I have been tempted to buy an expensive cappuccino maker and am glad I never did. No need to go to Starbucks for a cappuccino because mine taste just as good and maybe even better.
I'm not sure why some complain about the froth. I get a lot of froth and it makes a delicious cappuccino.
I love this set. The Bialetti instructions are incorrect.
The correct thing to do after the milk is heated is you put the lid on and pump it.
Easy to use and clean. If you enjoy a good strong coffee, this is the pot.
I could not find the frother only, but the set cost little more than I previously paid for the single item. I purchased the set just to get the frother. I take the easy way out and use my electric espresso maker for the coffe making chore. The cappuccino maker performs beautifully, but is a hassle to clean. I had one and damaged it. It does a great job of frothing milk for cappuccino or latte.
